Sushi not as it seems...

The fish you ate in your last sushi may not have been what you thought you ate. It could have been a species that may be endangered. Recently, a few scientists found out that an endangered species, bluefish tuna, is very commonly put into plates of sushi in New York and Colorado. Surprisingly, this also may be going on in other states, with a different species that are endangered. It could be unexpected, but the sushi given to other people could be a species of fish that are almost extinct. Especially the endangered species of tuna fish have been being put into sushi lately, but unknowingly, for the reason that all tuna are very closely related. To help identify endangered species, scientists are using DNA barcoding. The majority of sushi sold at restaurants located in New York and Colorado were not labeled accurately on the menu of the species of tuna. The most ongoing type of endangered tuna sold would be big eye, which almost half of the restaurants are selling. Although some restaurants do label the endangered species of fish in their menus and charge extra for it, most scientists would have to agree that it is very complicated to get a decent idea of whether the sushi being eaten contains an endangered species of fish, or not. I chose this article to write about because i believe that more people must be aware of these little things that actually would make a huge difference in our environment. Even if it is not on purpose, people have to be more cautious of what they do that may affect living creatures . If this discontinues, and people are more careful, more fish would survive rather than become extinct. I think that everyone should realize that saving these fish is actually a lot more important than most people think it is. I hope people notice that using endangered fish for sushi is wrong to do.

Extra credit science quote response

In Science the credit goes to the man who convinces the world, not to the man to whom the idea first occurred.-Sir William Osler (1849-1919) Canadian physician.

Although people who come up with an idea are very smart, it does not specifficaly mean that it has to be true. The quote " In Science the credit goes to the man who convinces the world, not to the man to whom the idea first occurred." quoted by Sir William Osler a Canadian physician, is definitely very inspirational. In science it actually is mostly facts that are needed, and if you don't have proof then that will get you nowhere. You may come up with the idea, but somebody else coming along with the same idea may be the one to succeed instead of you. If they are the one who convinces everyone that their idea is true, they will definitely be recognized. On the other hand, the first ones to come up with the theory, will fail without any information or data about your thought process or abilities used for your discovery. Without evidence, somebody might come up with the same ideas and go far into their studies to figure out more, unlike someone else who had a random thought of a theory with nothing else to go along with it. In other words, I believe this quote just states that if you work diligently to succeed or achieve your long time goals, and earn what you deserve in life, more people will appreciate your work. You can't get anywhere without trying and hard work.
